This print is what inspired me to bring my mom’s artwork into this collection. I’ve had this ink painting for over ten years, displayed in every apartment I’ve lived in. It began as a bold black ink painting of a geranium, the strong contrast against white paper catching my eye. I love the depth and texture in the embroidered shirts, and I wanted to create a similar feel within the prints by using strong contrast and layering. The shirt itself acts as the canvas, with the center-front geranium print as the star. Finished with hook-and-eye closures at the center front, designed to keep the silhouette clean and unobstructed, just like the artwork.
